Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantities
Olive oil As needed
Onion, chopped 1/2
Garlic, minced 2 cloves
Baby spinach 5 cups
Eggs 5
Milk 1/2 cup
Nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon
Shredded cheese 1/4 cup
Salt and pepper As needed
Optional add-ins:
Cooked ham 2/3 cup
Mushrooms 3/4 cup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté Onion and Garlic: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 chopped onion and 2 cloves minced garlic. Cook until soft (about 3 minutes).
  3. Add Spinach: If you’re adding mushrooms, include them at this step. Add 5 cups of baby spinach and cook until wilted (about 2 minutes). If using ham, add it now.
  4. Prepare Egg Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together 5 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  5. Combine Spinach and Eggs: Add the spinach mixture to the egg mixture and stir well.
  6. Grease Pie Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9-inch pie dish.
  7. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle 1/4 cup of shredded cheese over the mixture.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and the center is set.
  9. Cool and Serve: Allow the quiche to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
