Slow Cooker Cheesy Burger Flavored Soup

A hearty and comforting soup, perfect for a chilly day. This cheesy, bacon-filled soup is inspired by classic burger flavors. The slow cooker does all the work, making it easy to prepare and enjoy.

Ingredients:

Soup Base:

Ingredient Quantity
White onion, diced ½
Garlic, minced 2 tsp
Diced tomatoes (undrained) 1 can
Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp
Lean ground beef 1 ½ pounds
Pickle relish 2 tbsp
Beef broth 3 cups
Yellow mustard 2 tsp

Finishing Touches:

Bacon, cooked and crumbled 8 oz
Heavy cream 1 cup
Frozen Southern Style hash browns 8 oz
Cheddar cheese, shredded 1 ½ cups

Instructions:

  1. Brown the Meat and Hash Browns:

    • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and frozen hash browns.
    • Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics:

    • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Combine Ingredients in Slow Cooker:

    • Transfer the meat and hash brown mixture to the slow cooker.
    • Add the diced tomatoes (with juice), mustard, pickle relish, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cook:

    • Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours.
  5. Finish the Soup:

    • Uncover the slow cooker and stir in the shredded cheese and heavy cream.
    • Cover and cook for an additional hour.
    • Stir in the crumbled bacon just before serving.
