People Whose Good Deeds Can Make a Small Difference in the World

It’s true that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Let’s talk about people who do good things and how those things can change the world, even in a small way.

Imagine you’re walking down a street, and you see someone struggling. That’s what happened to me one day. I saw a man in a wheelchair trying to go down some stairs. There was no ramp, so he and another person were trying to lift the wheelchair. It looked very hard. I decided to help. I didn’t think about it much, I just acted. I helped lift the wheelchair and we got the man safely down the stairs.

After we finished, I was ready to go, but the man stopped me. He asked my name and where I was from. I was in a country that was not my own, so I told him, “I’m wildcard5, from Pakistan.” He then surprised me by inviting me to have lunch with him at a restaurant across the street. I was a little unsure, but I agreed to go.

When we sat down, he told me something even more surprising. He said, “This is my restaurant.” He also said that I could eat there for free anytime I wanted. I was surprised by his kindness. I had only helped him for a moment, and he wanted to give me so much. I thought about it, and I wanted to be kind in a different way.

I told him, “I will agree to your offer, but only if you agree to one thing.” He asked what I wanted. I said, “Instead of me eating here for free, I want you to invite a person who is begging on the street to eat here. Do this whenever you remember what I did for you.”

He was quiet for a moment. Then, he smiled and said, “That’s a deal.” We finished our meal, and we talked about many things. We talked about life and travel. We talked about how good things can happen when you least expect them.

I never saw the man again, but I hope that he kept his promise. I hope that sometimes, a person who is hungry and needs help walks into his restaurant and gets a warm meal. This all started because of a small act of kindness.

It is important to remember that “kindness is its own reward.” This means that doing good things makes you feel good, even if you don’t get anything in return. Sometimes, the little things we do can have a big impact. Even just helping someone down some stairs can lead to something good happening for someone else.

We often get “caught up in our own world” and forget to look around. But when we do look, and when we decide to help, we can make a difference. These are the kinds of good deeds that can make a small difference in the world.
