This comforting Cheddar Crusted Ground Beef and Rice Casserole is a hearty and easy-to-make dish perfect for a family dinner. It combines savory ground beef, fluffy rice, and a creamy mushroom sauce, all topped with a layer of melted cheddar cheese for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground beef 1 pound
Uncooked white rice 1 cup
Beef broth 2 cups
Cream of mushroom soup 1 can (10.5 oz)
Shredded cheddar cheese 1 cup
Small onion, chopped 1 small
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Olive oil 1 tablespoon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Add the uncooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef mixture.
  7. Pour in the beef broth and cream of mushroom soup, stirring until everything is well mixed.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  12. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
