Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Strawberries, cut and crushed 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Water 1 cup
Cornstarch 3 tbsp
Fresh Strawberries, sliced 3 cups
Baked Pie Crust or Graham Crust To taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Crushed Strawberries: In a medium saucepan, combine the crushed strawberries, 1 cup of water, and 1 cup of sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
  2. Thicken the Glaze: In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a little cold water to create a slurry. Add the cornstarch slurry to the boiling strawberry mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens and becomes a glossy glaze.
  3. Combine Fresh Strawberries: Remove the saucepan from the heat and gently fold in the 3 cups of sliced fresh strawberries.
  4. Fill the Pie Crust: Pour the strawberry filling into the prepared baked pie crust or graham cracker crust.
  5. Cool and Chill: Allow the pie to cool to room temperature. Then, transfer it to the refrigerator to chill and allow the strawberry glaze to set completely. This will take a few hours.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Once the pie is fully chilled and the glaze has set, garnish it with whipped cream before serving.
