“Cheese Dreams” are a delightful, savory treat featuring a rich, cheesy filling sandwiched between sturdy bread slices and baked to golden perfection. They’re perfect for appetizers or a comforting snack.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Sturdy white sandwich bread 1 loaf
Sharp white cheddar cheese, finely grated 2 ½ cups
Butter, room temperature 1 cup
Heavy cream ¼ cup
Egg 1
Worcestershire sauce 1 ½ teaspoons
Salt 1 teaspoon
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Dried ground mustard 1 teaspoon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Trim the crusts off the bread slices and cut each slice in half lengthwise.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and grated cheese. Use a mixer or a spoon to mix until smooth.
  4. Add the heavy cream, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder, and ground mustard to the cheese mixture. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  5. Spread the cheese mixture evenly onto the top of half of the bread slices.
  6. Place the remaining bread slices on top of the cheese-covered slices to form sandwiches.
  7. Cover the sides and tops of each sandwich with the remaining cheese mixture.
  8. Arrange the sandwiches on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching each other.
  9. Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until the sandwiches are golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
